Our Manuscript Submission and Resubmission server has been redesigned and will be put in place Monday 7 May 2001. The new design includes the following:
- Improved navigation:
- Being more specific regarding acceptable file formats.
- Re-ordering the sequence of pages so authors can sort out their files first, and only then enter or correct the "meta" data for their paper.
- Ensuring that all pages have required and optional fields clearly marked and incomplete required fields are caught right away.
- Strategically placing help buttons with links to appropriate parts of the guidelines.
- Simplifying the guidelines with a focus on web submissions; improving the "frequently asked questions" page.
- Completely changing the resubmission pages so, in most cases, the author does not have to enter a lot of redundant information.
- New features:
- Length check and reference check on (re)submission. Both these services are optional but are strongly recommended.
- Online color figure authorization form. Again, this service is optional but strongly recommended.
- Allowing for the upload of a file for comments and/or responses to editors for resubmissions.
- Allowing the use of an eprint number for resubmssions.
