The nuclear spin conversion of CH3F molecules induced by the intramolecular spin-rotation interactions is calculated and shown to be the leading process in 12CH3F. For 13CH3F molecules, it complements the spin conversion induced by spin-spin interactions. Comparison with experimental data allows a qualitative estimate of a few relaxation rates and of the transverse anisotropy of the spin-rotation tensor that cannot be obtained with usual spectroscopic methods.
